The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is a national non-profit organization that works to increase the meaningful participation of girls and women in computing. The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors 9th-12th grade students (who self-identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary) and encourages them to pursue their passions in computing and technology. Award recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, tenacity in the face of barriers, and plans for post‑secondary education.
